YORKTOWN - Mary Alice Akers Florey, wife of Jim Florey, passed away on Tuesday, November 13, 2012.
She was born on October 21, 1957, in Jacksonville, Florida, a daughter of the Reverend B.C. and the late Frances Akers.
She was a graduate of Waynesboro High School, the University of Richmond and Westhampton College.
She was a member of Northside Christian Church and was employed by Lackey Free Clinic in Yorktown.
Survivors in addition to her husband, include her parents, the Reverend B.C. and Mary Lee Akers of Waynesboro; two daughters, Kaitlyn and Suzanne of Yorktown; brothers, Gary Akers and wife, Susan, and their sons, Sam and Jack of Richmond, David Cupp and wife, Susan, and their daughter, Kelsey; sisters, Laura Akers of Bradenton, Florida, Sherrie Burns and husband, Ed, and their sons, Matthew and Grayson, Jamie Morrison and wife, Jo, and their children, Erika and Drake, Carla Henderson and husband, Matt, and their children, Kendrick, Logan and Abby, all of Waynesboro.
A memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church of Waynesboro, 3 p.m. Friday, November 16, 2012, after which the family will receive friends. A memorial service will be held Sunday, November 18, 2012, at the Northside Christian Church in Yorktown.
